A Modern Townhouse Kitchen and Bath in Northeast Portland

July 22, 2026

Modern primary bathroom with a white marble tile shower, frameless glass, a marble hexagon mosaic shower pan, a dark high gloss vanity, a quartz counter, and brushed nickel fixtures in Northeast Portland, OR

This modern townhouse sits in Northeast Portland, a short walk from the Portland Community College campus. The owners wanted a sleek, minimalist home that worked hard in a small footprint: a kitchen that stayed easy to clean, a clean European feel through the whole place, and two bathrooms that spoke the same quiet language. We built the kitchen new and finished both baths to match.

The kitchen

The kitchen carries the whole idea. We hung high gloss cabinets in charcoal and white, kept nearly handleless with slim pulls, so the fronts stay flat and easy to wipe down. Stainless steel appliances sit flush in the run, quartz counters give a hard, seamless surface with no grout to scrub, and a stacked white tile backsplash keeps the wall bright behind the range. Luxury vinyl plank runs underfoot for the wear a busy kitchen takes, and it carries out through the rest of the townhouse so the floor reads as one plane from room to room.

The powder bath

The powder bath keeps the same clean lines in a tight space. A dark high gloss vanity anchors the room, topped with a quartz counter and a matching quartz backsplash that runs up the wall in one piece. A slim black framed mirror hangs above it, glass globe pendants drop beside it, and brushed nickel fixtures keep the palette calm. Nothing crowds the room, which is what makes a small bathroom feel considered instead of tight.

The primary bathroom

The primary bathroom is where the townhouse gets its moment. Dark floor tile grounds the room and throws the white marble tile of the shower into relief. Inside the frameless glass, the walls run in large format marble tile, and the shower pan is laid in a marble pattern hexagon mosaic that gives the floor grip and a little movement underfoot. Brushed nickel fixtures carry through, from the shower valve to the vanity faucet. The vanity itself is dark high gloss to match the powder bath, under a quartz counter, a quartz backsplash, and a black framed mirror lit by a pair of glass pendants.

Our crews were meticulous with the details across the kitchen and both baths, and delivered exactly what the client wanted: a modern townhouse that stays sleek, easy to keep, and quietly European from the front door through the primary suite.
