A Mountain Spa Suite in Government Camp
June 22, 2026

This mountain house sits in Government Camp, OR, with Mt. Hood filling the windows. The clients wanted the end of a ski day to run like a spa: warm up in the sauna, rest in the chill room, then walk straight into a bathroom that feels like part of the same ritual.
The spa bathroom
The bathroom carries that feel through every surface. The floor plane runs level from the door into the shower with no curb to step over, and a mosaic pan slopes to a single linear drain. Fluted wood look tile wraps the shower behind frameless glass that rises floor to ceiling. Heated floors keep the tile warm underfoot, custom cabinetry keeps the room quiet, and full height mirrors stretch the space. The lighting sits low and warm on purpose; after dark the room reads moody, the way a spa should.

The cedar sauna
We built the sauna from scratch out of premium cedar, with custom head rests and a FinSauna heater sized for the room. The floor is tile with tile baseboards, so heat and water never meet bare wood, and lighting tucked under the seats keeps the glow low. The chill room sits alongside for the cold half of the routine.
Our crews were meticulous with the details, in the bathroom and the sauna both, and delivered exactly what the client wanted: tile, cedar, glass, and lighting that read as one design from room to room.
